秋田県立脳血管研究センター放射線医学研究部/放射線科 ホームページへようこそ。1968年開設以来の研究と診療、現在の活動をまとめました。20世紀後半から21世紀にかけての時代は、Technologyの進歩によって、いままで想像するしかなかったものが目に見えるようになった時代といえます。アポロ11号から送られた月面の地平線のかなたに浮かぶ地球の映像は、現代に生きる人々の世界観を変え、Globalizationの礎となりました。 Technologyの進歩は、医学・医療にも大きな変革をもたらしましたが、放射線医学はその恩恵を最も享受した分野のひとつです。「見えること」は、「知ること」の第一歩です。
私どもは、脳卒中の研究と診療を目的に設立されたセンターの放射線科として、「脳卒中」を見えるようにすること、正しく知ること、知ったことを治療に役立てること、を営々と続けてきました。どうすれば、見えるようになるのだろう。どうすれば、もっと正確にみえるのだろう。見えるようになったことは、どんな意味を持つのだろう。ここに集った人たちの知的好奇心と野蛮なバイタリティが、30年間脈々と受け継がれ、今に到達したような気がします。
1970年代の脳血管造影、1970年台後半から80年代のX線CT、80年代前半にはじまった PET、90年代のMR、脳核医学。ここで行なわれてきた研究は、脳卒中の画像診断の歴史そのものといえます。血管から脳組織へ、さらに脳組織の様々な componentsへ、侵襲的な検査から、患者さんにとってよりやさしい検査へ、視覚的な評価から定量的な評価へ、病態の診断から病因の診断へ、30年間の軌跡が物語っています。

脳血流量、酸素消費量、ブドウ糖消費量、アミノ酸の脳への取り込みについて、主にPETを用いた研究が行われました。高齢化先進県の秋田では、正常加齢、動脈硬化の危険因子に修飾される病的老化、痴呆の研究が増々重要になると考えられます。今後、当放射線医学研究部/放射線科の研究・診療の重点領域です。

1997年9月に、放射線科内に画像診断センターを開設し、県内の医療機関から依頼された検査を行っています。CT、MR、 SPECT、PETによる中枢神経系、腫瘍性疾患の画像診断が中心です。開始当初は月間10~20例でしたが、途中の増減はあるものの、現在月間30~40例の依頼を受けています。
